Life’s Simple Lesson From Tanzania

By Patrick Hawthorne

Have you ever heard or read something that made you go, “Hmmm?”  This was one of those moments for me.  The following was a Facebook post from friend and Missionary to Tanzania, Paul Troquille.    Be blessed.

Life’s simple lessons. Yesterday I sat on the porch. Summer is here in Tanzania and after a little rain, a cool wind came at sundown. I watched this bird attack himself over and over on the side mirror of my friend’s car. Pretty bird but pretty stupid. He does this all the time. I wondered about myself (I think it’s healthy to be suspicious of yourself) and about my behavior from time to time. You see someone and “think” you’ve found the enemy, when all along the enemy was you; wasting away precious energy pecking at something that’s not even the problem.

How often we do that! I would add the Enemy want us to do that too, so we don’t notice the real Enemy
