A Friday Thought

By Patrick Hawthorne

David was NOT obsessed with being discovered.  David was obsessed with being developed.

Many of us have dreams that have been placed in our heart by the Lord.  Be assured that until we learn to be content with where He has placed us at this particular moment, we will most likely never see the fulfillment of that dream.  The training we receive now will prepare us for the battles we will face later.  There are no short cuts with God. Be blessed.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.

(Psalm 37:7-8 NKJV emphasis mine)

  3. Amen, Patrick. Good word. David being developed, not being discovered, I like that too.

    “We’re all a hero in God’s story.” That can be a tough mindset to cultivate in our Western world because we’re very much about defining “success” as wealth, fame, popularity. I try to remember who really pleased the Lord, how there was “none more righteous a man in all the land.” That would be Job. God’s ways are not our ways.

    Laughing here, but I like to call myself the Lady of the Crumbs. The crumbs from His table are just fine. I’ll just stay in the background and cheerfully avoid the boils.:)
