Have you ever had someone say something or do something that made your spirit do a little leap to where you knew, without doubt, that our Heavenly Father just got your attention? My blogger friend, Wally Fry, did just that through a small written statement in a series he is doing on the Book of James. It made such an impact on me that I stopped what I was doing to post a little snippet of what he wrote. It might mean nothing to you personally but serves as a minor course correction for me.
Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. (James 4:13-16)
“It almost seems as if James has taken a change of direction here, as he moves on to another subject. Now the subject is the audacity of a group of men and their plan making without considering the plans and wishes of God in those plans.” Wally Fry
How many times have we, the Body of Christ Jesus, in our unintended arrogance made plans to do this or that without first having the common courtesy of considering the plans and wishes of our Lord in those plans? Something to think about, isn’t it? Be blessed.
