So… You Want to Reach the World, Do You?

wheatby Patrick Hawthorne

If you are a born again child of God, you are a preacher.  No, you might not be called to the five fold ministry to stand behind a pulpit, but you are a preacher never-the-less.  Our lives should be our testimony whether or not we use words to convey our message.  Consider the following words of Charles Spurgeon.

“It is the praying man who is the right preaching man, and if any of you long to do good to your neighbors, you must begin on your knees.  You cannot have power with man for God until first you have power with God for man.  Solitary prayer was the equipment for the Prince of preachers when He came forth among the crowds.  It is the best equipment for you also.”  Charles Spurgeon

Need I say more?  Be blessed.

  3. Love this, Patrick. We’re all called to a ministry of some sort.

I’m fussy about who I will call “Preacher” 😁 but I know what you’re getting at here. Our lives – how we speak with others, how we behave, all that stuff MATTERS. Often, people form opinions about our God based on how WE conduct ourselves. What kind of God will they see?

In this era, the world does not see our God as a god of love and mercy. They strongly suspect, no matter how we may protest, that our God is a spiteful, vindicivite God who cares more about “morality” than he cares about *us*. The world is getting this idea from *somewhere* and I highly suspect they’re getting it from *us*.

How can we ever expect to have a meaningful conversation about sin and salvation under those circumstances?

Most of us would make terrible preachers anyways, lol.

Did you see Wally’s most recent meme?

    THAT’S what I’m talking about! 😁

Excellent! This has been on my to do list to write about! Thanks for doing a great job of it. We are peacemakers, because we are peacekeepers! We win by abiding in God and in the knowledge of His victory. There’s really no need to be having conversations with the Devil, when your Daddy is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

    God bless you!
