Cooperating With Heaven.  Then Will Come Revival.

“Prayerlessness leaves man as the mere creature of circumstances at the mercy of blind fate and without help of any kind from God.  It leaves man with the tremendous responsibilities and difficult problems of the world, with all of its sorrows and burdens and afflictions, without any God at all.  In reality, the denial of prayer is the denial of God Himself, for God and prayer are so inseparable that they can never be divorced. “ E.M. Bounds The Weapon of Prayer

“Denial of prayer is the denial of God Himself.”  What a bold statement.  Yet, can we deny the truth of those words?  Prayer is as vital to a Christian’s survival as the air we breathe.  It is our life line to our Heavenly Father.

Without prayer, there is no hope.  Without prayer, there is no expectation of life beyond misery.  It is by prayer that we come boldly before the throne of Grace so that we many obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need.* God gives us prayer as the avenue by which to not only commune with Him but to tap into His great power.  We are His receptacles, yet unless we plug into the power source, we are mere paper weights, useless for much else. “O’ Lord, that we would know the immeasurable and unlimited and exceeding greatness of Your power that is available to us who believe.” **

Doctrine will not move heaven.  Theology will not move heaven.  Programs and give-a-ways will not move heaven.  Only prayer will move heaven.  Not just any prayer but faith prayer that is in agreement with heaven.  We must cooperate with heaven.

If we are to see Revival, our prayer must be an earnest plea for God’s Holy Spirit to be poured out on all flesh.  It must be in agreement with His Word, not contrary to His Word.  We must bind up those things on earth that are not allowed in heaven and then loose those things upon earth which are allowed in heaven.  ***

Is there darkness in heaven?  No!  Then loose the light of God to shine upon this earth to dispel the darkness that is invading your city.  Is your church lacking spiritual strength to reach the lost?  Then quit praying against their weakness.  Instead, bind the fear; bind the spiritual lethargy.   Pray that God would grant unto His servants that with all boldness they may speak His word with signs and wonders following.  **** Cooperate with heaven!  Cooperate in faith.  Pray God’s Word back to Him; words that will never return void *****!

I am expecting a fresh fire of God’s anointing to spread across this land.  I am expecting a move of His Holy Spirit in dramatic fashion.  I am expecting a fresh rain of His anointing as evidenced by Revival.  What are you expecting?  Cooperate with heaven.  Pray for God to guide your prayers so that your prayers are in cooperation with His desires.  Be blessed.

  1. Amen!

I think of it as being in His will, rather than being in my own. So prayer is a really good way of discerning what His will is in any given situation. Often if I can just align myself with His will, He will pour His spirit all over whatever is going on. “Cooperate with heaven,” that’s well said.

    • Thanks IB…What you wrote is what has been happening with me these last several posts on Revival. As I transition in thought, I ask the Lord to let me know if my thoughts align with His thoughts. If I get a check in my spirit, I back up and find out the direction He desires. I have been humbled by what He has been speaking to me.

Good word. Watchman Nee gave a great analogy of why we should pray… “Our prayers lay the track down which God’s power can come. Like a mighty locomotive, his power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails.”

  3. Love E.M. Bounds. I’m blessed to have a copy of his complete works. Did a whole sermon series on the subject 3+ years ago.

Not sure where I got this, but thought you might appreciate it:

    A Prayer for Spiritual Revival

Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly, To venture on wider seas Where storms will show your mastery; Where losing sight of land, We shall find the stars. We ask You to push back The horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future In strength, courage, hope, and love. Because we have dreamed too little, When we arrived safely Because we sailed too close to the shore. Disturb us, Lord, when With the abundance of things we possess We have lost our thirst For the waters of life; Having fallen in love with life, We have ceased to dream of eternity And in our efforts to build a new earth, We have allowed our vision Of the new Heaven to dim. Amen.

Reblogged this on Truth in Palmyra and commented:
Cooperating with Heaven. Now, there is some radical thinking. Quit cooperating with ourselves, our traditions, what we want, and what is expedient and painless. God’s will be done on Earth…as it is in Heaven. Maybe if we tried that, we could change this broken world instead of complaining how horrible it is. Blessings and enjoy.

Thanks for sharing that power that is within each of us. With prayer as our reins hearts of kings can be moved, healing can become a reality and souls can be won. How horrible to die and realize what could have been done if we’d only prayed.. I am encouraged.

    • Thank you so much. In response to your statement, I hate the idea of getting to heaven and finding out just how much I could have changed if only I had prayed.

I actually had a dream back in the 80s that I did just that. I dreamt I was in a car with my very young children. Suddenly we were under attack and missles filled the sky. One hit our car and it exploded. I could feel my body scatter, though I felt no pain. Somehow I knew I was going to heaven and I got excited. Then a thought crossed my mind as I anticipated His presence. “You could have prayed more. You should have prayed more.”
