ISIS Who?

Uh Oh! It’s on today.  As I was getting ready for work this morning I felt the need to rock out to Habakkuk from the audio version of the Message Bible.  Yeah…that’s right.  I’m pumped.

Yeah, Habakkuk starts out a little on the slow and gloomy side, but dude, let me tell you, it really picks up the beat in the third chapter when Habakkuk pulls out his Axe (electric guitar for you non-rockers) and rips out a righteous solo of God’s victories.

“Angry, You stomped through Earth.  Furious, you crushed the godless nations.  You were out to save Your people, to save Your specially chosen people.  YOU BEAT THE STUFFING out of King Wicked…”

“Dude, if you ain’t excited about that, we need to check you for a pulse.  Call 911 someone cause this joker needs to be revived.”

All this hoo-rah that is going on in this world is nothing compared to what my Jesus is going to do when He makes His triumphant return.  He’s not coming back as a passive lamb being led to the slaughter.  No, He is coming back as the Conquering King.

“I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,”Says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come,

THE ALMIGHTY!

Don’t fret, don’t be dismayed, don’t howl and whine at the misery you see before you.  Don’t give ISIS even one shred of a moment of worry.  ISIS who? Stand up.  Lift up you heads, because Your REDEMPTION is drawing near.

Ok, I’ve got to go run.  Anyone got the theme song from Rocky?  Anyone?  Be blessed, my friends.

I hear those tuning sounds too and it makes me pray harder for those who don’t know Him including ISIS and all the rest of those deceived because He loves them just as He loves me. So I pray ‘O Lord arise and let Your enemies be scattered’ But I cry o Lord have mercy too. That none should perish!!

Not intending to contradict what you said: amen. we shall not be shaken!! He is King of kings and Lord of lords. We are all gonna kneel and confess Him as LORD!!!!!!!

Great post! This is great, there is a biblical motivation for being pumped about the Second Coming!

  5. Lol…If you can’t tell, I was in a goofy mood. However, I just felt impressed that morning to listen to Habakkuk in the Message instead of reading it. I’m glad I did because I felt revived.

  6. This is definitely a man’s man kind of blog post. I’m sorry, Patrick but the bloodshed in the world makes me cry. I do have a strong urge to protect life but vengeance doesn’t call to me and I can’t look forward to that awful Day. I have to look past it to the peace on the other side and when I don’t I am overwhelmed with sorrow when I look at what is happening in the world, all around me, even in my personal life, and then look into the immediate future. My heart doesn’t yearn for God’s judgment even though I do long for a world of justice. Everything in me longs for the Day when the Lion lays down with the Lamb and the cry of vengeance and bloody wars are forgotten.

  7. I have been debating on listening instead of only reading and this post just confirms it for me. Quite reviving. I almost saw you blowing a trumpet 🙂
