It is a quiet Saturday morning, just after sun up. My wife is still sleeping as I take time to read, study, meditate, and pray. I must admit, I feel a deep sadness come over me. I have just read some things that are troubling me. Man hating man, killing man in the name of religion.
His god instructed him, through his holy text, to kill all that do not belong to his religion. Who is he? It does not matter. He is just one of many walking about with blinders over his eyes, claiming that he has seen the truth. I see that he is totally blind.
“Holy Spirit,” I whisper. “Lead me to where I need to read this morning. Please show me what You would like me to read and write on for this post. Help me to encourage others. ”
“2 Corinthians 4.” He silently whispers to my heart.
As I read my thoughts whisper back, “Ah yes, my Lord. “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.”’
“Do not lose heart,” He whispers. “Do not lose heart. Do not lose heart.”
I read further. The answer to why so many are killing and being killed, in the name of a false religion, come to light. “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age (satan) has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”
“But, Lord, don’t You see what they are doing?” Yes, He sees…and is deeply saddened. “Hang on,” He whispers. “It will be for a short time, but these things must come to pass in order for My Word to be fulfilled. Do not lose heart.”
The earth is trembling. It is in travail. It is anxiously awaiting the return of our Lord Jesus. Do not lose heart. Though you are hard pressed on every side, you will not be crushed. Though you may be perplexed, do not despair. Though you are persecuted, you will not be forsaken; struck down, you will not be destroyed. DO NOT LOSE HEART!
For our light affliction is but for a moment. Even though we see the chaos and confusion of this age, we are to look to those things which cannot be seen except through spiritual eyes. The world is blind to what we, the born again children of Almighty God, can see. The world sees those things which are temporary, false and of lies. They are fooled by the slight-of-hand magic tricks masterfully executed by the god of this age…satan. Don’t be drawn in by this trickery. Focus instead on the eternal through our Lord Jesus Christ. Do not lose heart. DO NOT LOSE HEART! Be blessed.
