I Refuse to be a Dirt Eater

By Patrick Hawthorne

head-in-the-sand Every day I see it.  More and more Christians are bowing to satanic attacks with a pacifistic mentality of, “Let’s bury our heads in the sand and pretend that nothing bad can happen to us.”   Their hope is, “If I leave Mr. Devil alone, maybe he will stop attacking me.” Wrong answer!

The devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).  He will settle for nothing less than the absolute and total annihilation of all that God considers to be holy.  Guess what?  This includes you if Jesus resides in your heart.

Fortunately for us, Jesus ripped every tooth and claw from the devil so that he holds no power against us.  However, being toothless does not mean he is completely incapable of making our lives miserable.  His weapon of choice is trickery and ignorance.  His trickery is to use our ignorance of the Word against us.

Satan’s greatest form of power is to convince us that fighting for what we believe is not necessary.  His desire is for us to walk with a weak knee, Mr. Rogers, “Want you be my neighbor,” mentality.

Some reading this might think I’m being a little harsh.  I’m only pointing out the obvious.  After all, we see it everyday in the natural.  So many, in dealing with terroristic attacks, claim that the best way to defeat terrorism is to establish dialogue and engage in cordial communication.  We see how well that is going for us.

We are living in the last days.  As such, satan (yes, I intentionally spelled it with a little “s”) is in an all out assault against the Body of Christ.   My words to the Body of Christ is, “Suck it up Buttercup and get ready for war!”  As for me, I refuse to stick my head in the dirt.  I will not be a dirt eater!

“Father, as Your child, I know that the attacks will come.  As with King David, show me the Goliath’s I must fight, the right time to fight, and the weapon of choice for the fight.   You are my shield and my buckler and as such, no weapon formed against me shall prosper.  Apart from you I am already defeated.  Yet, in You I an victorious each and every time.  In Jesus Name I pray. Amen!

  1. Nothing harsh here! I agree with you wholeheartedly. I just wrote my blog about the same thing.

Satan came into my hotel room last week, set my normal pain on fire, inciting in me fear for what I needed to do. I fought him off with the Word of God and sent him packing. God won that battle and I know there are many more to come. . . I fell for his antics too many times . . . I am now very aware of his tactics and refuse to allow him any victory in my life. I despise him, hate everything about him . . . can’t wait for him to cast into the fiery pit of hell and torment for evermore! Amen and Amen ~

WORD! I was speaking with a Christian couple the other day about the end times. I was shocked at how little they knew of what was going on around them. Not only were they not informed but they weren’t even looking! Looking for the return of Christ, that is… Wake up church!
